Always stretch of course
Keep your back straight
Always look up, and get on your tip-toe with the other foot
Never lean your weight back.

I hope I helped.

If you need anything else, just e-mail me.

I am a dancer too. Just stretch alot. Find and object or barre that is close to your hips put your leg on it and stretch to both sides it should help. In a while your leg will go really high.

stretching and practice!

I dance to--my ballet teacher always tells us that you should run in place for a few seconds to get your blood moving then stretch. It should give you a better stretch + if you are having trouble with your right leg stay in your Right splits for at least 2 min.

do like twenty or so kicks in a row SLOWLY the slower you do them the stronger you get and the better you strech stay centered and dont lean toward the leg when you kick stay straight as a board even if it doesnt go as high that way because your not streching if you kick it the wrong way your just screwing up your kicks

You need to identify the part(s) that need stretching. . .what feels tight when you try to kick? your hamstring? your hip? your knee?

Also, be sure you are well hydrated and your body is warm when you try to stretch.

The technique I like best for front extension is kinda crazy but it really works. it forces you into a standing split (extreme high kick position)

Stand in a doorway (open the door first) facing the side of the door without hinges.

place your hands straight out, gripping the wall on either side of the door jam (both hands are in different rooms).

bring one knee to your chest and place your foot on the side of the doorway.

then using your arms to balance, slowly wiggle your foot higher and higher up the wall.

as you get better you can begin to wiggle your standing foot closer to the wall as well. Use your body weight to lean into the wall, intensifying the stretch.

eventually the goal is to have your standing foot braced against the door jam and your legs both fully straight. be sure not to neglect your posture as you stretch and to make sure your hips are square.

remember, our bodies are not symmetrical, and every dancer has one leg that doesn't stretch as easily. the goal is just to fill in the gap as much as possible.

make ur legs stronger...practice....my kicks used to not be that high and after 1 year of practicing i can kick almost to my nose...it just takes time and practice...i just push myself to kick higher but that doesnt work 4 some people
