I'm a high school student and I would have said yes no matter who the person was because I think it is extremely rude to turn a girl down, but girls usually don't ask boys either for this reason.

thats not fair. you should tell the teacher that you didn't get a partner to practice with before she posts the results

Yeah that is rude and extremely hurtful, they should have remained professional, but even still how come you didnt get 2 dance with anyone? The teacher should have given everyone an equal chance.

slap the guy in the face and ***** at the teacher

Go tell the principal, the vice principal, the superintendent. the guidance counselor and the dean of students. This teacher is out-to-lunch. Tell your parents. It may not solve the problem for you, but it may. Write about your instruction from the teacher, write about the reaction you got. There is always a shortage of males to dance. I always stand right there and make sure that every girl gets a chance.
I have only had one refusal which surprised me until the two explained that they were twin brother and sister. Of course I changed them so they did not have to dance together.
