Question:Moderator!
i am going to be in marching band which is in the morning next year, but I am a dancer, i take tap jazz and ballet. I want to be a competitve dancer, but that takes up alot of time, and my mom wont let me. then i think maybe i should do cheer, but that would be very stressful too, i would have to go to 2 football games a week, one after another. But i want to be an artist or fashion designer, si then i think i should be focussing on that stuff...what should i do

dance, band, cheer, art, sewing, recreational cheer and tumbling, recreational cheer and band, jazz dance, band, tumbling and cheer, art and sewing and band and dance or what?
I HAVE DANCED FOR 6 YEARS
BEEN IN BAND FOR 5
GYMBNASTICS 2 YEARS WHEN LITTLE, REALLY GOOD

You obviously have many talents. Sit back for a moment and think about the one that you love the most, that speaks to your heart's core. Then, think about what a career in that field will mean as far as sacrifice and income. Those artistic forms are one thing if you're doing them recreationally - another if you're doing them to make a living. Also keep in mind how long you might be able to keep them up. The body at 15 is quite different from the body at 20, 30, 40, etc. A dancer's and tumbler and cheer leader's life is short.

So again I say - what speaks to your heart the most. What would hurt the most to give up. If you want to be a competitive dancer - nothing in the world - not even your mom - can stop you. It make take a few years, until you live on your own, but ultimately, the decision is all up to you. Choose wisely, but know that all choices can be altered.

if u do to many things u will be so stressed out and super sore...all i did this year was studio dance, dance team, and cheerleading and i thought that took a while...dance team is 2 big of a commitment with that much stuff......if i were u i would stick with band and studio dance....maybe cheer........and i think that a little bit of sewing and art would be good for ur mind...dont forget to leave times for urself, ur family, and ur friends tho

you should try doing colorguard. it's a fairly large time commitment, but it is part of the marching band. that way, you would get to dance, as well as being part of a group that performs/uses instrumental music. just a thought.
