What should I do when I am alone at a dance ?

Question:I have no problems dancing with girls. But when I am alone at dances I have no clue what to do and things get awkward. Can someone help a guy out and tell me how i should dance (I'm in high school by the way.)

just go out on the floor and dance, it doesn't matter if you went alone or not, just go on the floor and dance, if someone starts dancing with you, then great! if not, still go out and act yourself.

The guys in my school are funny. When they arent dancing with girls they are standing off to the side with their friends looking all awkward. In middle school they didnt dance, even if they had a girlfriend. Preoccupy yourself with food or drinks if your feeling awkward or alone.
