In the first instance, Gymnastics really complements Ballet, and vice versa, so should you have the time to invest in both, it will make you an all-together better dancer.

If you're not that great at it, you have to realise now that you will never be a professional ballerina (I don't really get the impression that that's what you want out of it anyways!)

Dance and gymnastics are a great source of fun exercise, and they're like the female alternative of boys going to play footy on the weekend...they're just all-together great for you! And have you ever seen a boy refuse to play sport because he was poor at it!??? HAHAH

At 15, you may need to join an adult class, but many of them will have different dance background, be average at it or now have any experience at all. The age group will probably be mostly uni students or like 15-27 years old, so you're not going to be with retirees (don't worry).

I say go for it. Many adult classes you can pay as you go in dance anyways. Gymnastics would require a bigger commitment.

Good luck!

It takes up a lot of time, don't do it.

Who cares if you're rubbish at it, as long as you have fun =]

Doesn't matter where you live,if you feel the need to dance,do it! Ballet training is the best because it sets you up for any other style of dance you want to attempt and,it will stay with you the rest of your life. Someone wrote that it "takes too much time" well,it takes time, but it's time well spent, believe me

Absolutely follow your "intuition"..They are both wonderful practices. Do not hesitate!! If i had it to do all over again i would have been as active in dance as i have been in martial arts. Dance is life !! And so is gymnastics. You don't need to be perfect at them, just do them for all the "blessings" they offer.

If you only have time for one: Sit quietly and "ask" which is better for you, and listen for an answer while very relaxed. Of course they complement each other and to do both would be great. Best of luck :))

try both of them for like a term and see which one u like betta

just have fun :)

i do ballet and i absolutely luv it! it seems to me that when im dancin im a totally different person. the people at my dance studio are like my second family. you build a bond with everyone and sometimes better than school friends! (idk about u but i hav sooo much drama with my friends and at school its nice to go to dance and be away from that drama)there is much more to dance than ballet, like jazz tap hiphop lyrical etc... but ballet is definetly one of the best! well i hope this helps! either way u choose gymnastics or dance ur going to have a great time! i hope this helped :)

It doesn't matter if you're not good. As long as you have fun and are keeping healthy, just continue. I don't do gymnastics, but I do ballet. I find that the longer you practice, and the more persistence you have, the better you get. You can't be good after, like, one class. Have patience, and you'll improve.
