I know for a fact a lot of girls like you that want to take a dance class that are a little bit older. I am a competition dancer and captain of my cheerleading squad so I think i know what you are talking about. I also do competition cheerleading and i am a flyer. We actually have competition tomorrow on my birthday but any way. Most dance studios offer classes for older beguiners like you. Yes cheerleading helped me some but I think it would benefit you to take a ballet class (i know they are boring). Ik that we have to take them if we compete because they help you with your technique and all dancing is based around ballet so you probably will be compleatly clueless about the other other classes (ie jazz) if you don't have ballet first.

its not to late ur young attractive n flexible. Your age grouping would probaly be (14-16 or 16-18)

You might have to join a class with younger girls, but that wouldn't be so bad. If you have an idea where you'd like to take classes, call them up and explain your situation and I'm sure they'd put you in the correct class.

Honey, it's never too late to try something new.
Of course it would be better to have done it as a child since the 'learning quickly' part of your brain has slowed down. That's why a child can learn certain things quicker like speaking different languages, playing musical instruments and dancing.
But with that said, it's never too late.
Since you're 16, other parts of your brain have matured or grown so your ability to focus, prioritize and pick up things are greater than when you were a child.
If you have the money and the time I'd say go for it!
Ballet and hip-hop dance classes would really be great for cheerleading. :D

No, they most likely wouldn't put you in a class with little ones. For beginners usually the studio offers teen or adult classes, or private/semi private classes. It's NEVER to late to start dancing :)
