Question:im trying to put together a practice routine and i just need some help. it would help if you just name the excersize and how many. (ie battement, 2 going front, back, then 2 to the side. repeat this 10 times.) i know this seems dumb like i could do it myself.. but its easier if i can get some ideas and help from you guys

This is what we do in my ballet class

1.) plie- in 1st 2nd 4th 5th 2 demi a grande plie up to a demi plie then another grande plie a port de bras forward and backwards
2.) Tendu- 2 slowly 4 faster do them to the front, side, back, side, back, side, front, port de bras to the right then to the left
3.) Degage- facing the barre 8 to the right 8 to the left 4 right 4 left 2 right 2 left 1 right 1 left 1 right 1 left 2 right 2 left 4 right 4 left 8 right 8 left
4.) grand battement- 2 front, side, back, side, back, side, front, 4 en cloche
5.)usually in my class we strech our legs out a little on the barre, then continue with the barre exercises.
6.)Rond de jambe- rond de jambe a terre 2 slowly, 8 fast do them dehors and dedans 2 rond de jambe en l'air bring your leg back to attitude, then straighten it to arabesque
7.)frappe- 2 to the front, side, back, side, front, releve 2 frappes to the front, 2 pas de chevals, 2 frappes to the side, 2 pas de chevals, 2 back, 2 pas de chevals, 2 frappes to the back, side, front (all done in releve)

Plie, 2 demi and one grande in each position. Tendu, four to the front,side,and back. Ronde jambe,8 forward and 8 backwards. Frappe, 8 front then back, then 8 double frappes. Battement,two front,side,and back repeated 4 times. developpes, one front,side, and back,repeat twice SLOWLY. ashapes,sur la demi pointe 16 times and 16 ashape saute.coupe,one dessou and one dessi, pa de bourre and repeat 4 times. This is kinda from Cechetti grade 2 but oh well.

Here is what i do, (im on pointe) i spell them the way they sound!!!
Tondus 3 front then a demi plea then 3 side then demi plea and 3 back then Susu (sue-sue) then same thing on the other side.
3 Demi Plea's and 1 grand plea in First, Second and Fifth/
Keep doing ur battement.

It gives a TON of basic exersises at the barre, center and allegro steps!

You should ALWAYS start with plies in 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th to warm up your hips. Do two demis, one grand, then a combre forward and back in each position. Then I like to do a tendu exercise from first facing the bar. Do this for both sides: 8 then 4 then 2 then 1 (repeat 2 or 3 times, however many you feel will warm up your feet!) Then do a rond de jambe exercise. Eight en dedans and eight en dehors. Then repeat, but do the rond de jambs in plie. After that do frappes. Four front, side, and back on flat then repeat in releve. For the break, releve and bring the leg side for rond de jomb en l'air, eight en dedans and eight en dehors. (if you need to stretch before this go right ahead.) Do a fondu combination. Fondu to 45 degrees then to 90 for front side and back.(Repeat twice) From there do develope. Slowly for front side back side, repeat it reversing. (Start back then go side then front. The last thing to do is grand battement. Develope front then do four battements. Do the same for side and back. HIH!!

-Plies in 1,2,4,5,...3rd if your studio teaches it but otherwise leave it out. 2 demi one grande. Throw in some combres and portes bra if you like, to keep the upper body engaged. 4 tendu en croix, but 8 to the sides. Then tendu, lower,tendu in four times followed by three tendu jete/degage. If you feel ambitious, degage alternating legs in reverse cross pattern. Then 4 fondu en croix slowly, followed by 4 develope en croix. Then grande battement 4 each way.
