So I am left wondering if you made it? If not I can understand your frustration, she got it and you didn't but you feel you were the better candidate for the position. I have never been a cheerleader, I haven't always been a fan of the stereo type that comes along with being a cheerleader. But from my understanding and 4 years of High School I can tell you that not all those who make the cut have talent. It's more of a popularity contest than anything else. Does she know the coach or have lots of cheerleader friends? If so than that's your answer.

You say she's your best friend so try and just be happy for her and support her. I know that rejection is a tough lesson to learn and you have my deepest sympathies. Find another activity that you excell at and do that.

popularity contest.
sorry.
thats just how some things are

probly really hot

maybe the coaches just like her personality and attitude and thought that they could make her an awesome cheerleader!she probably has potential.

That's just life for you. We all go through the bitterness that you are feeling, and once it sinks in, hopefully you can learn to support her. Maybe you could help her out a little, and help her on her moves. Keep on practicing, there is always next year!

The favor of God......

unfortunatley, cheerleading does have a lot to do with looks and being "popular".too bad, i bet there might have been other girls that were way better huh?

Cheerleading tryouts have nothing to do with popularity-and if the ones at your school do, well then that isn't the way they should be done. Either you are over dramatizing everything or she was the was she said she was. But the coaches could see potential in her as a cheerleader, and they will take that over a girl who thinks she is the best thing ever. They look for girls who have good attitudes, so if she had a good attitude thats a plus on her part. There are many factors on why she made it, but if she's your best friend, just be happy for her.
