Question:okay, so i decided to try a couple of classes last night at a new studio. it was harder than my studio now that i go to. the problem is my hips hurt sooo bad!!!! it's like at the sides of my butt(more on the butt than the side of the body). what is wrong?!?!?! right now i am laying on my stomach and i can't even lift my legs up cause i get this tension in that area! and i have dance tonight again, and i can't tell my dance teacher i was trying out classes at a studio i might go to next year cause she'll get mad. what should i say?

inflammation. ice the injury for 24-48 hours after the injury to reduce swelling, then after 48-72 hours put heat on it (heat and cold both for 20 minutes at a time, with 20 minute intervals between!!) which increases blood flow to the area to help it heal.

Just tell her you were out dancing with friends and over did it.

Motrin helps with muscle pain. I take a couple and a cup of strong coffee before dance class and it helps my old self get through class.
