Position:Home>Dancing> Best way to start hip-hop dancing?

Question:I'm 17 and I have always had a passion for dancing but I do not know how to go about starting. Should I enroll in a dancing class? If so, What type of Dancing class? Should it be hip-hop dancing or maybe ballet or whatnot?
Any information would be wonderful.

start with hip-hop because its modern and people will be impressed at what you can do, i would say watch some videos on youtbe especially certain musical artists such as chris brown, missly elliot, ciara, justin timberlake, omarion, marques houston etc. watch some dance vids then learn some routines or make up your own, watching and taking notes are key so that when you try to start your own routine you know what to fill in, also when picking songs pick ones that have a steady pace to it, like not too fast but just right so that you can emphasize your moves and remember to have fun!!

Enroll in a hip hop class if you want to learn hip hop.

Well, I have been taking hip-hop, jazz, and ballet for many years. You should enroll in a jazz and ballet class if you want to be a more technical dancer. If you take jazz you should always take ballet, it helps so much with turns and footwork. If hip-hop is what you love to do, do it. Its amazing, fun, but very hard its not easy to be good, but practice does make perfect. Good luck!

I say start at home with a Ciara or Janet video so you get the basic steps. Then once you've learn a thing or two from the video, enroll in a class...

ballet would be hard to start because it's so time consuming. i would suggest hip hop
