Question:I have recently started danceing. I've noticed that every time I try to kick my leg, or do a fan kick that puts my leg above 90 degrees, my hips, more specificaly, where my leg socets are, pop. And it is rather painfull.. I find it's hard to be as flexible as the other girls in my class because it hurts to do anyting that puts my leg above 90 degrees. Anyone know of any issues or problems that this may be ascossiated with? Or are my hips just alinged wierd?

Popping can just be harmless (if it doesn't hurt). If the hurting is actually happening in the joint, when it pops, I would see a doctor. If the hurt is more muscular, just keep working on your flexibility. Some people will always be more flexible than others. Don't get discouraged. My hip used to pop quite a bit (usually no pain). After years of dancing, no more popping!

that tends to happen to me but it's all about the strength of your muscle in that area. i'm not sure of a work out that you could do to target that specific area but i recommend googling it and/or seeing a personal training for advice! hope you find a solution; keep dancing!

my moms use to do the same thing it was because her body wasnt use to it yet
i dont think your aligned wrong just that your body needs time to catch up with what your doin
