yes i remember the movie Gregory something was in it too i just can't remember the title, beautiful movie

There are some classic ballet movies about the ballet which might be more suitable for a young girl than White Nights which is almost a spy thriller of the cold war and defection.

First there is the classic dance movie of all time called "The Red Shoes" which is the story of a ballerina in 1940"s who wants desperately to dance and sacrifices to become a great ballet star.. There are many beautiful dance numbers in it and it takes place in Monte Carlo (supposedly based on the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo). Then there is the classic...Turning Point with Shirley MacLaine and Ann Bancroft which is Barishynikov's first movie. Although it revolves around the 2 stars there is a subplot of a young girl becoming a ballet star with the American Ballet Theatre. There is a Gala performance presented in the filmwith many classic showcase numbers danced featuring many superstar dancers. Of course there is Billy Elliott which is the story of a young boy who becomes a ballet dancer. Not so many classical numbers in it though. Then there are a few filmed versions of the Nutcrackerthe Tchaikowsky ballet, which shows a young girl entering a fantasy dance world in her dreams at Christmas. The most famous film adaptation of this I believe is the one with McCaulay Culkin danced with the American Ballet Theatre. The sets and costumes are spectacular.

I hope she enjoys some of these classics.
