yes! size doesn't matter with dance. there are beautiful dancers of all sizes! being strong and flexible is definatly an advantage tho! and about your pointe question, most studios won't let you be on pointe until you are 12, so if you have strong ankles and work hard, i'm sure you will be on in no time!

stronger and flexible is better. Especially if you go into a ballet class, you have to be flexible, and you never know, you could have a talent, and they could put you in pointe rather quickly, my cousin started ballet when she was 5, she was in pointe at 13. My friend was in ballet when she was 12, the following dance season, she was in Pointe :]

i started ballet a year and a half ago and I'm 14 now. and my dance teacher said i should be on pointe by next year,
as its not really to do with flexibility its to do with the muscles in your legs else if you rush into them you can seriously injury yourself.
but yeah i say go for it, its the best thing ever !! i love it !!
good luck x

go for it gurl i am a dancer too and i am 15 and i love ballet t i am not the thinest but i am more flexible too. you will not embarrass your self just dance and have fun

Anyone can be a decent dacner if they put their minds to it! Well you will need a lot of work and to be ready it usually takes new girls to ballet about 2 -4 years to get to pointe. Good Luck i hope you like ballet
