Question:I used to be such a skinny, great dancer with great moves, and I loved it for the energy. Then, I was raped after dancing at a dance club, and stopped and gained weight. I'm getting back into trusting my body and moving again. I still have the basic moves, but I get out of breath easily, lose balance easily, and lack the speed I used to have.

Other problem - noplace to play music LOUD. I live in an apartment and am afraid to let it blast. I wear headphones but this makes me dance more timidly and stops me from really cutting loose and sweating and working for it.

I REALLY want this. What should I do, how can I stay motivated while getting back into hip hop dancing again?

First of all im sorry to hear about what happened.

2ndly: of course u must know that u can't only dance and eventually ur back on ur feet. U should exercise a bit at least 3 days a week(but not rite b4 u start dancing, u dont wanna tire ueself out b4 u even get started rite?). and don't 4get breathing exercises either. And of course eat healthy vegies n fruits will do ya good if ur planning on moving fast, if u eat heavy foods u'll feel heavy and have less energy.<<<this is all basic info u should kno just to get u back up to speed.

3rdly: How cares if u live in an apartment, that doesn't mean u can't play ur music loud. U should b able to play it LOUD from 11am-8:30pm, people should up between those hours and for me its usually no biggy. If n e hting they will complain but they shouldn't b able to do n e thing more if its ur 1st warning. if u are warned then im sorry i don't kno wat else to say cept play it loud just not blasting n e more.

4thly:The only thing I can really say about stayn motivated is just think bout the future and how u'll feel once ur get ur "groove" back lol that alwayz gets me goin. i think of how much fun i'll have once i learn how to do n stuff n I think of competing against other ppl (im learnin poppin). So just remember all the POSSITIVES of hip hop dancing.
