Question:i'm thinking of starting dance class... modern dance, but i'm kind of old to be starting it (i'm 15) soooo i was just wondering, would it be really weird of me to start now?

and do they offer beginner(ish) classes for people my age? or would i have to be in classes with like 5 year olds?

For how old you are starting,I TOTALLY encourage you trying dance!! You probably won't be with girls your age but a little younger- I am 12 and a 15 year old beginner is in our class. The girls you dance with will most likely be my age. But don't give up if you struggle-follow your dreams!!

not to late. just kind of late. my friends just started and take the dance classes at your high school. even though they teach ballet and jazz ect. thoughs help for all dances. it make it easyer to learn. they do offer beguiner classes for older people just need to look for them and pay attention to outside shchool activity flyers at your school or ask a dance/gym teacher. goodluck

Modern dancers can start at much later age than ballet. Modern is not about learning the positions of the body and feet and executing them to the grandest ability. It is about the exploration of space, time, and energy. If you are really dedicated and find a teacher that is a good match for you, the sky is the limit. I have known people that started in college and became professional dancers. Don't worry about the age of the people in the class. Some modern dance classes have mostly 20 and 30 year olds. Some creative movement modern dance classes have much younger children. Go for the class that you can relate to and ignore the age. Modern dance ignores age.
