Question:I am 5'6 and 120, the other girls on the team are 5'5 and 107. would they be the flyer over me? they are so not as flexible as me, i can do the splits, counting middle, the other girls cant even kick a 90 degree on front or back. should i loose weight? my cheer team doesnt compete, how could i get them better? how do i loose weight naturally? eat half the portion of food i usually do and skip cookies and snacks at school? excersise more than 7 hours a week? i do pe and dance.

Your weight is probably all muscle due to the exercises you do, so don't worry about it.

You are a high flyer, that is obvious.

I suggest you get downloads from the Internet about competitions for your cheer group -- then push them at the teacher, the school, everywhere -- pump up the power!

Your weight sounds perfect. I would be worried about those girls if I were you, as 5"5' and only 107 lbs is underweight. You need to be flexible and small to be a flier, and you are both of those things. I'd say you've got a better chance!

1. no, don't lose weight or try to lose weight! you are already underweight for that heigth, so you have no need to diet and like most girls, you could always overdo it and make yourself have a serious condition
2. it depends on your instructor whether they'll be picked over you, probably not because it's such a small difference, and overall you are a better person for the job
3. to make them better just do more stretches and technique things rather than cheers. by working technique without doing the cheers, it makes them ready for when you do!
