Position:Home>Dancing> What would happen if ballet never exist?

Question:If ballet did not exist most dance forms wouln't have been invented like jazz, modern, lyrical, and tap (well it wouldn't be quite the same!). Also most dance styles would die out because ballet promotes interest in other dance styles as well.

hope this helped!

well then many types of dance wouldnt exist...like modern dance, it originated from ballet

i agree a lot of dance styles wouldnt exist

My life would be completely barren, and most other dance styles wouldn't even exist.

My life would be almost nothing. There would be no type of dance at all. It makes me shiver to even think about it...so sad...

Then many types of dance would not exist either because ballet is where most dance genres oringinated from.
Alot of studios reccomend even if you are going there for hip-hop that you take ballet a long with that for flexibility, tecnique, balance, strength etc. Even a lot of sport players are told to take it by their coaches..it helps in a lot of things other then just dance.. and it would just be sad to not have it around.

Our dance culture would have simply evolved differently. Many other world dance forms did not come from ballet. Western culture is not the be-all and end-all of everything under the sun. Dance would still exist because it is a form of communication that is wired into our very beings as humans. Dance existed far, far before ballet and dance will go on existing and adapting to remain relevant to current audiences.
