Position:Home>Dancing> Competitive Dancers: Pre-Competition Tips?

Question:Serious Comp. Dancers:
Competitions start soon for me, and I would like some ideas for what I should do the days before and during dance competitions. What to eat, how many stretches (that won't make me wake up in pain before dancing), how much sleep, calming ideas, etc. Thanks!

i am hard core competitive dancer
before competition be sure not to eat not alot of fast foods, eat lots of fruits and vegetables and drink lots of water for during dance and milk at supper, lunch and breakfast
don't do more stretches then you usually do because you might over whelm your muscles but like an hour or so before you actually go on be sure you are fully stretched out
get lots of sleep before the competition so you are good enough to bring all you can to the routine during the competition
just don't even think about it.....when competing just pretend you are back at the studio

:)
have fun

first of all DONT PSYCHE YOURSELF OUT
just think of it as another dance class
youlll have plenty of time for stretching but some light stretching before bed doesnt hurt
the month of my competitions i really cut back on junk food i eat a lot of "rabbit food" ie. carrots salad fruit
sleep ALOT it makes you feel refreshed and well rested and just keep telling yourself you know your numbers and do not over practice them this will make you more stressed out and you wiill in turn probably forget something

good luck with your competition :)
