cool!!
i have one next saturday.

the only advice i can really give you is, dont take it as serious as everyone makes it feel.
share your nervousness with other people, that usually helps me.
another thing that helps is jumping around just a little, get yourself to stop thinking about it.
dont think of the mistakes you could make, but how good you could do.

know that dance means buisness, theres nothing to be nervous about.
pretend like youre practicing.

hah,
expierience.

You are right, having someone say to you "just don't worry about it, have fun" does not help because they are just idle words. The people around you that love you want you to enjoy yourself and think that this is just normal. Well, they are right, it is normal to get nervous before a performance.

Before I go on to do one, I normally go in another room away from everyone to be alone. I close my eyes and breathe calmly while sitting on the floor. The idea here is to relax. I think about my performance and visualize what I am going to do/say. Since you are prepared for your routine, you then have someone come get you 1-2 minutes before and you immediately go on. Your are relaxed, confident, and ready to go. There is no quick fix; it is about being relaxed and confident in your ability to do what you came to do. In addition, the more you practice, the better you will be and the more confident you will be making it easier to relax before a big performance.
I am sure you will do great on Saturday! Break a leg!

Just accept that you're nervous.

It's okay to be nervous, thats a part of being a performer. Even the best performers are a little bit nervous before they go on. A bit of nerves are good!

Once you just accept that you're nervous and that's okay, you'll dance better! If you worry about being nervous, you're just going to be nervous because you're nervous, and it'll just create more anxiety.

Merde!
