show them how much u want it! put in all ur effort! for instance...at the end of the class a lot of ppl are really tired and perform the steps a little sloppy. be the one who stays sharp. also when the teacher needs a demenstration volunteer urself! -hope this helps :)

Put a lot of effort into making yourself shine whether your at a competition or in a lesson. If they see that you have good technique and a great personality, I'm sure you'll get moved in no time and if that's not the case, you can bring it up gently by asking them what you need to improve on.

For example: "Miss whoever, what do you think I should work on to be ready to move up to another level" and take their advice wholeheartedly...don't be defensive and tell her how good you are, let her tell you what you need to improve on.

Good luck.

Dance, dance, dance! Practice a lot.

practise, practise, practise! Throw yourself into every move. my sister is a dancer, but i've seen her in shows where she's clearly not putting in much effort and it shows. when she tries, she is fantastic.

Talk with your body. Don't open your mouth to talk ever in class. Work hard on correct alignment and placement. Work on demonstrating the quality of the movement [sustained, percussive, lyrical etc] If after not saying anything at all with your mouth for a month and nothing has changed, ask your teacher what you need to work on to move up to the next class. Then work on that.

Stand really close to the teacher so that she's the first person she looks at.

You can't 'show your teachers that you're good enough'. You have to BE good enough. If you're ready to move up, they'll take notice and move you up. If you aren't ready, they won't. You just need to take every correction you get and apply it and work very hard in class.

Shake your god given money maker!!
