The key is to try on a ton of them. Perhaps your teacher has a preference from experience, but different models and brands are better for different people. If she's really going to insist on you getting Bloches, there are plenty of styles for you to try on.

My first pointe shoes were Griskos... Ulanova Is, or Vaganovas... I can't remember. Anyway, the sales lady told me before I tried them on that they hardly ever fit ANYone well... but they worked great for me! Just goes to show... you never know until you try them out.

i've used bloch throughout my dancing life and it has been really good. they have lots of stability and a comfy (after u get used to them). id suggest getting bloch too :)

I had bloch sonata as my first pointe shoes and they were good :-)

My first were Sansha recital. I remember being super prepared before I went on pointe.

My first pair was Capezio (they suck.) But it is really about what works for you. Stay away from russian shoes because the box on the shoe is smaller then the average ballet pointe shoe, when you get better then you can try a Russian shoe (I have russian shoes now). But Bloch is a good starter shoe and Capezio is a good one to. Even though I said I hated Capezio just try them anyway, the only reason I hated them was because they WHERE NOT good for my feet. My foot just snaped my shoe in half after about one week, but I have really stronge feet. So just try on as many as you can and see what works for you!

Both my daughters started with Bloch Serenade. This is what their ballet school recommended and they were perfect for beginner shoes.

how are your feet??...bloch are very hard for good and experts feet...but...for first time...you would have Pointe not very hard...
