my parents used 2 think that way, bt i manage 2 convince them by:
1. getting all the info i needed (place, price etc)
2. i explained why i wanted to learn n wat r the benefits (eg. i'll learn disiplin etc)
3. i also promised 2 study hard and keep my grades up
4. promise pay 4 lessons urself(if ur parents hv financial concerns)

hope this helps..all da best

say that it will be good for you to get in better shape and will keep you busy if your not usually doing much. Also if money is one of the problems just say that it might be worth it if you are actually a good dancer. and if you have the money maybe even make a deal and pay half or 25% of the cost to go there

I am a parent. Sit with them and discuss every aspect of it, tell them its your dream but remember its also whether they can afford to let you do it. Good Luck.

Just tell your parents nicely over dinner or something that you are interested in signing up for ballet classes.

If they say yes, you are good to go.:]

If they say no, ask why & if it's because of...

financial reasons- say that you will get a job to help pay for it or you will use some of the money you already have.
schoolwork- tell them that you will remain caught up in school and continue to try hard.
friendships/social things- tell them that you will make new friends, continue to keep your old/ good friends, and will not have any "friendship dramas."

Basically stress to your parents that you are 100% interested in joining ballet and you are up for the challenge and the fun.

Have fun!

It will make you a more well-rounded person. It's good excercise and teaches posture and form.

maybe you should ask your parent if you could pay for the lessons by yourself . here are some ides 1# have a yard sell 2# save your money 3# make better grades 4# do good on tests

first just ask them then say that its good for you and youll stay in shape and stuff like that. im a dancer too but i didnt have to worry about that when i started dancing... i was only two.

Tried and tested, get all the info you can on it eg: health related, price, studio, location, etc... A full time table in other words. This will show them that your really commited and responsible.

Good Luck, V. :)

i agree w/ the first
