It depends on what you mean by become a professional. If you want to do the competitions and things, start looking for a partner who has the same goals as you. You can use the internet for this and an example of how is here.
http://www.dancepartner.com/

(Follow the usual internet safety procedures when looking for a partner - meet at a public place - such as your dance lessons - with your parents)
For a partner you want
# someone you trust (you won't really know this until you start doing lifts)
# someone who is between 3 and 8 inches taller than you
# someone you are not likely to start a relationship with (this can cause your dance partnership no end of problems)
# someone willing to put in the same amount of time and money as you are.

Once you have a partner it's down to practice, practice and practice. For this you will need a room large enough and may have to hire a hall or studio. You will also need a coach. As you get better you will need better and better teachers.

Go to the competitions before you enter so you can check out the dress, make-up (full body) shoes and standards. This will show you what you are aiming for. Don't forget that many of these have been dancing since they were 4 and their parents were often dancers before them! It will also be a place to network other dancers, teachers and coaches.

Look on the internet for social dances in your area. These will help you to decide what you want in a partner and expand your range beyond the exam dances.

When you are not dancing, practice your facial expressions and walks until you do it naturally.

If you want to become a teacher, continue with your exams and ask your teachers how they came to be teachers. You also will need how to lead (be a man).

Get competing as soon as you can

Good luck!!!!

do heel leads when you're meant to & not when you're not
do whatever your teacher tells you, but if it sounds wrong don't be afraid to ask questions!
try your best!
don't give up!

do all the dance u can, get a parenter and win arawds ete.
