Im 11 and ive never done hip hop and ballet and i want to start?

Question:im 11 years old and ive never had dance training except for some bollywood and creative movement in school. I really want to start doing hip hop and ballet then maybe jazz, but i know my parents wont like it. My parents want me to focus on studies to have a good future and i just know they wont like it if i want to start dancing. i know so many people who dance but they started when they were really young and i always wonder if ill ever be as good as them and if ill ever catch up. but i really want to dance and i already know the places to go.

my parents used 2 think that way, bt i manage 2 convince them by:
1. getting all the info i needed (place, price etc)
2. i explained why i wanted to learn n wat r the benefits (eg. i'll learn disiplin etc)
3. i also promised 2 study hard and keep my grades up

u r still young, if u work really hard, u still hav a chance 2 b as good.

In haryana, there's great dance class in a school call PineCrest. For beginners on Sundays. They teach jazz. But witha mix of hiphop in it. It's mostly jazz-hiphop. It's actually DanceWorks, founded by Ashley Lobo.

If you have a passion for dancing you should go for it!! Dont let anyone say you cant do it. I suggest you join you go down to your local village hall and have a look at the posters ect. as they usually show a range of posters about dance academy's ect.

Have a look on the internet for a dance school which has a range of dances in one session so you can try them out to see which dancing you like to do best.

As for your parents tell them this wont be in school time and make a rota (if thats what it takes) for your homework so you can get it all done and not miss out on what you want to do....=))

You will only regret it in the future if you dont follow your dreams... And its not too late to start you will soon catch up!! =D

doooo it its normal for kids to start at the ages 10 - 12 11 is a GREAT age GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!

If you love to dance then do it. As a male dancer I was not going to do ballet a first. But started to love it. You might love it also.

im 11. ive been dancing scince i waz three. theres not much to jazz. u have to want ballet more than anything else though, ccause its painful if u dont start young. just hip hop and jazz wont effect ur studies though. u may miss a few days 4 compition. i always do but thats life. i love dancing. its a part of my life.a major part of my life.
