im on a dance team at my school. not a drill team but we still do kick routines too. we do lots of stretches everyday at practice here are a few:

*sit on the floor in a straddle stretch to the right, middle and left side first do this with your foot flexed and then pointed.

* sit in your split for about 10 seconds, rest and then another 10 seconds ( do each leg atleast twice) try to be able to sit in your splits and lift your hands over your head

* sit in a pike position ( both legs straight in front of you) and hold your ankles and try to go further slowly.

when your doing kicks you want to have very strong legs. and the more flexable you are, the higher your kicks will be. stretch daily and your be fine.

Im no cheerleader but you can try to put your legs behind your head. 1 at a time and then if you were able to get both of them behind, after awhile, I would have to say that is pretty flexible or limber.
