Position:Home>Dancing> Will it be har for me to start dancing hip hop at the age of 13 with almost none

Question:i started hiphop when i was 13 and had no experience with any type of dance. that was about a year and a half ago and now i'm one of the best in my class (not trying to brag). it was hard at first simply because i wasn't used to the concept of musicality (dancing on beat) that was my only real problem. you'll want to practice a lot at home if you want to get better. you're not gonna be perfect the first time you try. no one is when they try something new. in order to perfect your dancing you'll need to practice. a lot. some people have natural talent while others just aren't meant to be dancers. speaking from my experience, it was very easy for me, but for some of the girls who had been dancing way longer than i had, it seemed a lot harder. basically everyone is different, but if you set your mind to it and work hard, your lack of experience shouldn't be too much of a problem. just have fun with it though. don't put all your energy into being the best. it's much better to just enjoy what you're doing. all that matters is that you are having a good time. best of luck!

maybe

It probably will be tough but aren't there beginner classes?

anyways, it's never to late too learn new things! i want to join a dance class too but i've never been in one and i'm 21.

there's a bunch of stuff i still want to learn in my life and it's important to not let your age or fear of embarassing yourself stop you! :)

it's supposed to be hard that's what makes it worth it. i didn't start dancing till this august. (i dance mostly hip hop and jazz hip hop is my favorite tho) and i went from a beginning class to the second highest at my studio so yeah its going to be tough but if its something you want to do go for it!!!!

No I dont think it will be hard for you, but if you don't try hard and dont pratice it wont be easy for u but if you do try hard it is going to be easy.

Hip hop is basically all the dance moves that won't fit into the classical range. Yes some of it is pretty difficult (this is coming from a dancer who's danced for 11 years) but it definitely won't be impossible. Make sure you start at a level appropriate to your skill, you might be the oldest person in the class but at least you will still be able follow what they're teaching. With a little work, home practice, and dedication you'll be up with your age group in no time.

not too hard but you'll probably be put in a class with younger people who are not your age
