First, you can't perform something well unless you know it well. If you are picking up the steps slowly, take extra classes or private lessons. Then, once you have the combination cold,
DON'T LOOK AT YOURSELF IN THE MIRROR!
That is the secret.
Look above your head at the reflection of the back wall in the mirror. If there is nothing to look at, dance to the top of the wall/edge of the ceiling. Smile at it and entertain it! Spot something on the back wall (in the reflection.)
When you are on stage, you will focus on the back wall of the theater, above the mezzanine. Then everyone in the theater will think you are looking at them. Train to spot the back wall. Some people try to spot a head in the crowd, or the famous "medallion" method of spotting while performing. Problem is, people move. Walls do not.
If you try to perform in class, and watch yourself in the mirror, it 1) doesn't transfer to the stage and 2) you are moving, so you are a constant distraction to yourself.
I hope this works for you. Good Luck!

I always told my students "Mess up with confidence!" You look better that way. If you don't know the steps than you should practice more at home. I don't know a dance teacher around that will not help you learn the steps that are not clicking.
When you practice don't watch anyone else look in the mirror and "perform" them. Remember you look silly when you don't perform - not when you do!

If you look at yourself in the mirror then you know what you need to improve - if you are watching someone else you will get distracted - just concentrate on you!

Chill, as long as you have fun you will do fine. Of course practice the routine. Perform in front of your family members or close friends so that you can get their opinions on what you need to improve.
