This move will take practice. But here is a exercise that has the "moonwalk" moves.

The moonwalk is actually 2 movements, and each movement involves one foot with full weight and the other without. Think of the free foot as "light as air", hence the name "moonwalk".
Here is the exercise:

1. Step back with your LF, and as soon as this happens, immediately slide your RF past your LF, with the RF very close to the floor but not having weight on it....it should "slide."

2. Now, put weight on the RF and as soon as it happens, immediately slide your LF past your RF, with the LF very close to the floor but not having weight on it....it should also "slide".

Repeat 1 and 2 as much as possible, but slowly.

The mantra here is......
Back on your free foot, and then let the other foot slide past.....

The other foot lands, and the next free foot slides past the other foot.

Hope this helps.

It should be practiced with shoes that don't grip. Avoid boots, and avoid other shoes that don't slide. Try your dress loafers, dance shoes, or ballroom shoes. Don't moonwalk on the sidewalk because it also doesn't slide....a wooden dance floor will do.

Go online theres bound to be some kind of reference you can use, or just keep practicing while watchin Michael Jackson videos... but why learn it anyway?

there are tons of really tutorial clips on youtube. For beginners try moonwalkin on really smooth surface. The smoother the better. And secondly, moonwalkin may seem all cool but if thats the only thing you can do then it gets boring after a while Trust me on this.
