Yes, it def. will help you have ballet experience. I had ballet and jazz experience and I noticed I could pick up steps and movements quicker than people with no dance background. The fact that in Ballet you use your core is an advantage b/c in ballroom you really have to use you core. One thing about ballet training that some ballerinas have trouble with is the hip action in Latin dances since in ballet you don't sway your hips too much but having ballet experience def. gives you the poise and natural grace that will make a beginner ballroom dancer look like they've been doing it for years. All the best of luck to you! Ballroom dancing is such a blast!

yes
since you started those it will help
but ballroom dancing is much more disciplined
and some what like ballet
except you have a partner

it is quite different. for one thing you are dancing with a parnter... and if you are doing waltz then the time signature of the music will be different; however your previous dance experience will help as you will have better coordination, muscle control, and rhythem. its always good to try something new, but don't get discouraged if you find it hard at first. with some time i'm sure you will do really well!

yes it will help. Ballet is the 'core' of dancing and usually, the more dance you take, the more it will help you in other areas of dance.

Certainly, any experience with any dance will help with learning another. There are a lot of crossover dancers in ballroom dancing with backgrounds in ballet, tap, jazz, etc.
