Position:Home>Dancing> My pointe shoes keep falling off.?

Question:ive been doing pointe for like 3 years now, and ive never had this problem. it started this summer, with russian pointes that didn't have a drawstring. i wasn't too surprised. but then i wore freeds, which i used to wear(until i realized how fast they died.) and they fell off too. then i tried grishkos, but they were too big for me, so i wasnt surprised. so i tried grishkos like 2 sizes smaller, with 2 thick elastics and ribbon and my tights rolled up so it doesn't slide on your tights? they fell off. both of them. on stage. with my tights rolled up again. so THEN, i had another pair of freeds because i was planning on wearing them for the performances but i wore the griskos instead and the elastic was TINY and the drawstring was cutting into my skin-it was pruple-and guess what! THEY KEEP FALLING OFF! as you can see, im really mad about this and it doesnt make any sense and my heel has permanent ditch-like things from having the drawstring so tight.icould explain morebut ihave no room

You can get these double-sided sticky pads that are just flesh tone so you can't see them, and you stick them inside the heel of your shoe, and it sticks to your foot/tights and your shoes stay on.

I found them on discountdancesupply.com

Get pointe shoes that are really narrow, sew your elastic really tight, tie your ribbons tight. You could even try a different brand.

i had the same problem when i started in the Nutcracker at 13. then my dance teacher got me Dr. Scholl's heel pads and toe insoles. they elevated my feet so they touched the top closely. if you are still having the same problem it could be because you have very narrow feet. if this is so then you can, beleive it or not, stuff the shoes where they feel lose. hope this helps!

if i were you id get new pointe shoes that arent the brand you have now. the brand of shoe probly doesnt suit your foot so try another brand.

One, get fitted in the store.
Two, try sewing the elastics onto the heel of your shoe so it is impossible for it come off.
Three, try getting a tapered heel in your shoe.
Four, try heel grippers, you can order them from Gaynor minden for really cheap.
