That's an x-ray, but it gives you an idea of what the foot looks like en pointe.

good question

It looks like its crying...big azz tears

they stand in the tips on the toes, the ballet shoe helps is a hard tip shoe, but myself i do it with the 2nd joint but i dont think is safe..

They stand on their toes. You have to build up your strength for this.

You're on the very tip of your toes. Mainly of your big toe and second toe.

tips of the toes, do have any idea how painful it would be to do it on 2nd joint?

Well, the pointe shoes and the muscles in the arch and ankle give most of the support, but it is the tips of the toes that are against the part of the shoe that is on the floor.

The foot actually looks like a smooth curve from heel to toe. And from the hip to the toe is one long straight line.

you stand on your tips of your toes. if you actually knew about dancing you would know that your toe would break if you stood on your 2nd joint.
