It can be quite expensive, but costs are, to some extent, controllable. You needn't have a coaching every day! Likewise, the studios make a lot of money on shows and competitions, which are lots of fun but expenses you can avoid if you don't really want to participate.
The basic walk in dance is based on the normal walk. Feet are pointed forward, so the turnout and other stressors of ballet don't really apply. Your weak ankles are unlikely to give you a problem if you can walk in heels.

well, if u were trying to do pointe, then yes, weak ankles would be an issue, but (as the person who 1st answered said) as long as you can walk in heels (about 1-1/2" high) then it wont be a problem. as for cost, you need to buy the shoes (about $50) and if u actually compete and stuff, the gown. Class prices can be flexible, and tend to rise as you move up in rank

of course you can. I have weak ankles too and I haven't had any problems so far.
