Question:dance?
if so to what kind of music,

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: dance?
if so to what kind of music,

Salsa. I want to take lessons but where?

Yes, to most kinds of music.

yes, but only alone. I dance to slow music, or jazz in front of people. but that is it. Unfortunately I am self conscious about it. But I am trying to work on it.:)
alone I dance to anything and everything, and to my own style. I even dance to fun music in movie trailers that I am watching. when i feel I am not being free enough with my body, I will put on music with a lot of rhythm and drums, especially African traditional songs and chants. They are really cool b/c most of them are meant to make people move, like in healing ceremonies. I like to dance to those pieces of music without words, because they put a lot of stress on rhythm rather than words, which makes it easier to dance sometimes. But if I know the words to a song, I will Sing and dance to it because the singing brings a greater part of your body into the movement. I will dance to modern music too, even if it not the dancing kind of music, just to feel it:) hope that helps.

I am a dance instructor, ball room swing, waltz, rumba, cha cha bolero, tango, any thing there is,

Yes i dance. I pretty much dance to any kind of music but mostly something that is slow and graceful as i do ballet.

uhm yeah .
to good music :)
like hip hop and jazz.

What type of dance are you asking about?

Club dancing? Anything with a good beat - a lot of rap and r&b works well. Dance house/club remixes of songs are great too. Certain pop/rock songs work too! Lil Jon (Let's Go, Get Low), Elephant Man (Jook Gal, Whine Up), Pitbull (Toma, Culo, Fuego, Bojangles), Usher (Yeah), Kinsu (Booty Bounce), Timbaland (The Way I Are, Oh Timbaland)... other good songs are Get Down Hit The Floor, Tambourine, Money In The Bank...

Technical dancing? I've done ballet, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, modern, pantomime, pointe, and tap! One or two routines in tango, swing, and african.

Ballet and Pointe, I like instrumental music from the famous ballets - Sleeping Beauty, Firebird, Nutcracker, etc. Hip hop I like the artists I've mentioned above - Lil Jon, Elephant Man, Pitbull, Timbaland, Usher, Kinsu, Beanie Man, etc. Jazz I have a lot of favorites - Business of Love, Peel Me A Grape, Heartburn, Son Of A Preacher Man, Feeling Good, Etta James, Linda Eder, Eartha Kitt.... so many others. Lyrical I like really soft and pretty music - Elisa, Celine Dion, Cindy Morgan, Keri Noble, Jann Arden, etc. Modern I like random/odd things. Lamb is a great group for songs, Perfect Lie by Engine Room, Marilyn Manson songs are good for hard styles, etc. Pantomime - my favorites are, I Wanna Be A Rockette, Life of the Party, My Strongest Suit, The Streak, Wickeder - Forbidden Broadway makes many spoofs and parodies that are great. And tap I love the 1920s and 1930s jazz/swing songs like Sing Sing Sing, Swinging In The Rockies, Day In Day Out, Everybody's Got The Right to Be Wrong... And swing song works great. Also, Brain Setzer Orchestra has great songs.

I have absolutely no idea if I answered your question, but I hope you got something from this! :)
