I'll bet they did dance in the stone age. Song and dance are an inherant part of what makes us human. They may not have thought of dancing as an art, my guess is that it was more of a social thing, a celebratory response to a happy event, or a formal response to a sad event. I imagine their dance would initially have been accompanied by drum beats, later simple flutes or bird whistles would have been added. Many of the Native American dances are extremely simplistic and consist of a shuffle step in time with the music, in circle format. The individual dances, done by featured performers, would have evolved at a later date.
So, in answer to your question, yes, i do believe people danced in the Stone Age, because even the most primitive of civilizations seems to share a love of music and dance.

I think there was a dancing thing in the old stone age.Dancing is a way of expressing your self and when you hear some good music you cant help yourself so you have to bust a move lol =] But also it was a way to show emotions and storytelling
