1.practice your splits, but don't push yourself too far too fast or you'll pull something. just sort of ease into it, you know? you could try over-splits, where you use something to elevate your front leg. these definitely help you get your normal splits a lot lower!! just DO NOT push yourself too far.
2. STRATTLE!! i love this stretch, it helps everything
3. lunges are important for streching out your hips
4. when you're in butterfly, push down your knees instead of just leaning forward. it helps a lot more.
5. always stretch 100% in class, instead of barely trying/focusing on your friends. i try not to talk and just focus on my body loosening up. i promise that if you actually work hard in class, then there is no reason why you won't become more flexible in the next couple of months.
6. don't worry if you can't get your middle splits!! some people were made with certain types of hips that will never be able to do them.

hope this helps :]

sit on the ground. spread legs apart. stretch to the right. center. left. ......lay on your back. put legs in the air. open legs to stradle. pull legs towards you and towards the floor at the same time.

Try yoga. They have Namaste Yoga on the fitness channel on tv, and I'm sure you could borrow a book or video from the library, or you could buy one. I recommend "Yoga For Everyone" It's a great beginner yoga video that will help you get more flexible.
