Question:what was the best foot exercise that gets/got your feet really strong for pointe?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: what was the best foot exercise that gets/got your feet really strong for pointe?

1) put your feet in nutral. get a tylonol bottle (or a bottle of that size) and put it in between your ankles. engage your thigh muscles and go in releve`. make sure the tylonol bottle stays in the same spot. do 10 than rest 10 than rest 10 than rest
2) get a theraband and Losely tie it to a chair leg. put your foot inside the hole. pull your foot away from the chair to make resistance. now slowly move only your foot outward 10 times. then move it inward 10 times [like sickle it] make sure you do it slowly. the shakier your foot/ankle is the weaker you are. make sure you do it to each foot 30 times. take rests between each set of ten. [this one isnt as confusing as it probly sounds!]
good luck on pointe!!

therabands help lots, i suggest doing 32 reveles in coupied front and back on each side, start with a bar then move to center.Keep doing the coupieds with pointe shoes!
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!

Releves....lots of releves. Releve plies. Grand plies and then rising up slowly. Pointing and flexing your foot and if you have one or are willing to buy I would get a thera band and on can really work out your feet, sit with legs straight in front of you, put the band around the ball of your foot flex it, go into demi-pointe, and pointe all the way very slowly...you can even try this with your pointe shoes on. Good luck!

releves, lots and lots of releves! make sure to hold them for long periods of time too, don't just go up and down

Releves and I also did some Theraband work. And just walking around on demi pointe around the house, helped a lot too :)

releves, and this exercise... first position. demi-plie. stay in plie and go up to half point. then stay in plie and roll up to full pointe. stay on full pointe and straighten legs. do this about 4 times, then reverse. go straight up to releve. bend legs. half pointe. plie.
