being a ballerina is more work then any other sports. if you can put up with the stress of making sure that you look perfect for every class then go for it. the ballet companies now are trying to get rid of the skinny ballerina look. so if you are the right weight for your height they should take you over some one who is under weight. they are also looking for girls who do competitions either group or solo because you have had that experience of being in competition with other people. it also depends on what company you are going to try and get in to. what companies have you applied for?

Most people won't turn you down because of your weight or size. If you have enough talent they'll take you no matter what!

If your technique and style is strong there is no way your body will hold you back!! Find out about auditions and ask your ballet teacher whether they think you would stand a chance at the company!! If they believe your technique and style isn't strong enough then ask them if they would help you prepare for the audition.

That's fine I'm a professional Ballet dancer and I'm 5'11 and half. :)
Nowadays it really doesn't matter, as long as you have the skill!!!! :)
Happy Dancing!!! :)
