you have to learn how to control your stomach muscles, and each one separately. If you cant find classes, check out books (public library, next time at Barnes and Noble), videos (youtube, yahoo, google), and websites that seem reasonable and professional. No one is born doing stomach rolls and shaking their hips. Watch yourself in the mirror when you do it.

When you bellydance for fun your emotions should be
5% sexy, 95% imagining yourself in India or Spain or Cuba, or a cultural place like that and with jewelry and a long skirt and onstage, which helps alot!!!!! Listen to Arabian/Indian music, but you can do this to any kind of music once you get the hang of it!

Do lots and lots of crunches and suck in and out your belly in different places, "trying to touch your belly button to your spine". Make your arms fluid, while your hips sharp, your belly slow and precise.

Happy Dancing!!!!!!!!! And no, you dont REALLY need to be super-flexible, but stretching alot is good if you wanna try other dances!!!!!!!!!! STretch before and after you dance!!

You might be able to learn just by practice, but you could also not get the posture quite right and injure yourself. I would definitely advise you to find an instructor with a good reputation and take classes. Once you have a good foundation, alot of practice will help you get better.

You do not have to be born super flexible. Flexibility isn't really necessary for many basic moves. It might be nice for a few moves.
