I want to teach myself ballet?

Question:i'm 13 years old and in ok shape. i took ballet until i was six but then the studio here closed. i'd like to teach myself. doe sanyone know of any good books or DVDs or websites? i dont mind paying as log as it's not super expensive.

i dont want to offend you but - Ballet For Dumbies - is a good book

hmm i wouldnt try teaching yourself.
is there any studio's close by that you can go to
there's also financial aid available if you need it

You should never teach yourself ballet, ballet is meant to be taught by an instructor. :)

I agree, even if you did take classes it's not the best to teach yourself. You could end up making mistakes which will eventually hurt you. One reason why having an instructor is so important is to give you corrections. Not only so you can improve, but also so you don't end up working your muscles the wrong way and hurting yourself. Whatever you end up doing, good luck dancing, it rocks!! =)
