Position:Home>Dancing> My sons and dauhter want to dance!?

Question:My daughter has always been bee-bopping around the house. Here lately, she is trying out all those break dancing moves (driving me nuts I might add...lol) and my two oldest sons are trying to do the krumping thing. It is sooo funny to watch them try and do it b/c they are too cute about it.

Anyways, my question is, what kind of dance class could I enter them in to, to get them a little more guidance on this? All we have around here are dance classes like ballet, jazz, tap, and some other ones like that, but I want a good hip hop dance class for those specific areas of dancing. Just dont know where to start looking.

It's a shame the local dance schools haven't embraced new dance styles. I'm classically trained but love all dance styles and have a great time learning hip-hop (at 39)...

I'd approach the local dance schools and see if they could get an instructor in... surely if you point out the fact that the students would love to turn up and learn, and the money they could make from advertising at the local schools...

Get your kids to ask around their friends and get a group together first and have all the parents approach the schools via letter? Just a suggestion.

Music DVDs will have the styles and moves all there for them to copy and you can all correct each other - join in if they will let you - it's great exercise...

Here's their fun...

find dance groups in your local area, look for dance studios. good thing encourage them to positive things.

play some music

have you tried taken the boy fishing or to a ball game. Spending a little time with him.. I would be a little concerned if my son wanted to krump or ballet around the house.

Well go to one of your nearest dance studios. Make sure they offer hip-hop, breakdancing (some studios dont offer it HOWEVER some breakdancers use the salon to practice and u cud ask them directly), jazz, or even swing and jive since they're just as lively and would help build up on their hip hop and breakdancing routine. However for that daughter of yours :-)... have you considered gymnastics? Sounds like she's quite an athlete and it might do her good. Plus if she becomes good in gymnastics breakdancing will be a breeze. Just to make sure they wanna do hip hop have them try this easy routine, ur daughter prolly knows it lol

It may look difficult but if you look at the video you'll see their moves are clean making it easy to distinguish the move so you can pick it up quickly. This dance actually scored high. If you want try a dance tutorial try this

Its kool ur kids like to dance! While looking for a studio, maybe your kids can watch tutorial videos on YouTube that show the moves. Just type in breakdancing tutorial or another type of dance with tutorial.
