Ok, here I go:
~Start with a straddle stretch, reach over to the right so that your knee is facing the ceiling and your shoulders are facing front, hold for at least 30 seconds then rotate so that your shoulders are facing your leg (nose to knee), then angle yourself so that you are reaching a few inched in front of your leg (if your center is 12 o' clock, reach to the 2 o' clock diagonal); reach center, then reverse to the left (diagonal, nose to knee, shoulders foward); repeat the whole thing twice
~Now put your legs straight ahead in a pike, point your toes and bend over trying to keep your back flat (don't hunch) and hold, then reach as far as you can (your back will hunch some); repeat with flex feet; now bring one leg to coupe and repeat, then switch legs, and now bring one leg to posse and switch legs
~Pretend like your in the splits, with one leg in front, the other behing. Bend one leg in so that your back oleg is straight and your front is bend to your chest. Reach over and hold, repeat with your bent leg in attitude (a 90 degree angle in front of you) and switch legs
~Lay on your back, pull one leg into posse then extend straight and pull to your nose, like in a kick (make sure both toes are pointed and both legs are straight) repeat going into posse and extending; carry your leg to your ear, then carry it across your body; hold all stretches and repeat with the other leg

Hold each stretch for at least 30 seconds and do on both sides for it to be productive!

Now try your splits for the first time after stretching, all 3 (left, right, middle)

~Now go to a wall, lay on your back with your booty next to the intersection of the wall and floor and your legs straight up against the wall; let your legs drop to a straddle (back on floor, legs on wall); hold for as long as possible, try 2-3 minutes!

Now try your splits again, this time go as far as you can then lay over towards your front leg, push back and arch the back, then roll so that you are laying on the inside of your split leg. This is hard to do until you ahve the splits all the way.

Do these stretches everyday and remember to only do your splits after stretching, in the middle of class, and after class to prevent injury. Good luck, I hope I could help!
Sorry it was so long ( :

Stretch every day....

well
just sit down on the floor
and spread your legs out to the side
try and get further everyday
if you watching tv or something you could try sitting like that for a commercial break

dont worry youve got to the end of february
you'll get it :]

Stretch every day. I recommend before bed. Straighten your legs in front of you and touch your toes until your forehead touches your knees. Do that 6 times, 30 secs at a time. Then sit cross-legged and stick out your right foot and lean so that your sides are pressed against your leg. Change legs. Each exercise should be done 6 times for 30 secs at a time. When you're done try the splits. Swallow you pain and just hold on for 1 minute. Do as many times as you want. Good luck!

I SWEAR by this exercise-this is how I got the splits and how a lot of my friends have also gotten it.

Lie on your back, raise one leg without your bum getting off the floor. Get someone else to push against that leg to get it as close to your head as possible. Once you are a height that you are comfortable with, hold for 20 sec. Then push the leg lower and hold, keep on doing this till you feel like you can't go any further. Swap legs. Make sure that your leg on the ground, doesn't get off the ground and that you don't bend your knee. Also, if you don't have someone to help you, you can use your arms.

If you do this everyday, you will be able to get it for February. Do it while your watching TV, waiting dinner, before you go out etc. Straight after the shower is also good too, because you muscles are all warm.

Hope this helps-I know you can do it :)

Good question! I just got my splits down, and I know how I can help you!

First of all, create a daily stretch routine. You can make your own up if you are experienced, but you can also find some great stretches online. I used the one my dance teacher uses.
After you create your routine, do it EVERY DAY. No exceptions, unless someone's in the hospital or your parents have guests over (embarrasing!). Or something like that.
Before you stretch, unless you've already went for a jog that morning or have already had exersize, warm up your muscles. Turn on a song and do light exercise for the length of the song. This will warm your muscles up, and make them more flexible.
Next, go through an entire stretch routine. Since you want your splits, concentrate on your legs. Make sure to pick a nice, long routine (at least 10 minutes)
After stretching, go into your splits, as far as you can, and stay there for at least 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, see if you can go even farther

By the end of February you should have your splits down!

Here are some suggested stretches for your routine:

"Jazz splits" where one leg is bent and the other is straight.
"Butterfly" where your feet are together in a pretzel shape, and you push in.
"Straddle" Where you sit down and stretch your legs out as far to the left/right as you can. If you are flexible enough, you can even bend down in the center.

Good Luck!
