a boy dancing is never a weird thing. i am 13 and i dance and i know lots of boys around your age who dance... and they are definatly not weird. the best thing to do is be honest with your mom. tell her dancing is something that you love to do. she will understand. you can also tell her what dance can help you with later in life. maby when you get older you want to play football or something. most professional football players take ballet or someother types of dance to help them play better. i hope this helps and i hope your mom will support you with what you like to do. :]

You say: Mom I want to learn to dance. Remind her of some men who are or were dancers. Mikhail Baryshnikov (ballet), Michael Flatley(Irish dance) and Fred Astaire (ballroom) are 3 examples of men who made careers out of dancing and became quite successful at it.

just be honest with her. Tell her How you fill. If you want to get start learning how to dance with out going to dance class just go to my blog. http://chopperdanceblog.com/?p=80

Here are a few reasons for you to tell her:

1. You will develop an extroverted personality
2. You will be very confident in life
3. You will be cheery most of the time
4. You will never be bored
5. You will have lots of friends
6. You will not feel awkward in social situations
7. You will be able to maintain eye contact easily
8. You will have more girlfriends from which to choose than anyone in your class

The above skills are essential for career development. The more confident and outgoing you are, the easier it will be for you to negotiate higher pay and to achieve higher career goals.

I'd add public speaking to your list of skills, and you'll be a smooth talking hot dancer, which will guarantee you social success!

Choose modern dance, by the way. Couples dances are fun, but you can learn them in a couple of years. Modern dance will let you be more creative.

Hip hop is always fun as well. Might study two. An actor who can dance is more desirable than a plain actor/model.
