Question:start taking a dance class?
i've always wanted to but i never got around to it.
i dont want to do ballet, i'm thinking more along
the lines of contemporary dance (which i absolutely love)
or irish step dance (which is pretty awesome).
what do you think? i'm not in the best shape, and that
might be involved somehow lol. but i really love dance
and the closest thing to it right now that im in is winterguard
which includes lots of body work like dance and flags and
such. so what do you think?

Well I don't think its too old but if you are going to start with contemporary most studios require at least if not much more than 1 year of ballet to take a contemporary class. I would suggest starting off with a Jazz class it is fairly easy and is a very good begining style. It doesn't matter if your not in the best shape that is what dance is for!!! As long as you can dance without like dying or something.

Hope I helped!!!!

Of course you should do it ! Nothing is ever too late. If you wait now, you may not have the oppurtunity later!Live life in the mo!

Definately not. I don't think you are ever too old to start dancing. It's a lot better then never dancing at all. As far as your weight is concerned, so what. I bet in no time that extra weight will be off if you start dancing. Good luck!

No, it's not too old. You're on the right track already with the winterguard. (I did that in highschool and loved it!) I don't think you're ever too old to try something new. Have fun and good luck!

Heck no I don't think your to old. Your never to old to try something new. I had a friends grandmother who tap dance will into her 80's. You will gain so much energy form all the excerise and may lose weight if that's what your trying to do. Best off all you will learn some new steps. Have fun and enjoy your still young.

no it not to old i started to learn square dance at 19 so it is never to old to start

of course not! my friend, shes also 14 and she wanted me to go take dance class with her. She says shes never taken dance class, but i told her to do it. It doesn't matter what age you are, you should definitely take dancing class. :]

Nope, your not too old. I'm 14 as well.

Contemporary is beautiful, so is Irish but its very tiring...My friends come out of class exhausted.

Your next step is just to find a local dance studio and sign up for a class!

Hope this helps :)

No go for it! If you want to do it then do it.

You're never too old to dance! I started when I was twelve and went a long way, I'm 14 too. well almost (a couple months until I am!) but yeah people start after they retire, even.

I know someone who started when she was 14 and she's really good. So yeah go for it!

Like everyone says, it's never too late. :)
Some good types of contemparay dance would be Jazz, lyrical, or even hip hop. Irish step dancing is really fun! You can skip around, it get you really hyped up. :)
Dance can make you fit, don't worry, :)

you are so not too old. you're never too old. im 15 and i started ballet a year and a half ago and i'm almost going to be a soloist in the company. if you want to try contemporary, it has a lot to do with jazz and ballet. you can try a modern class, which basically is contemporary, but jazz and ballet are definitely excellent prerequisites and they'll make you an even better contemporary dancer. as for irish step, i've never tried. i've tap danced for 9 and a half years. but irish step is way more jumpy and involved. good luck and i hope you do great!

you're never too old to start dancing! :-)

NOOOOO girl you go out there and do ur thing :)
