Position:Home>Dancing> Should i just quit?

Question:what should i do?, i have been dancing since i was like 6 and i have been a okay since then but this year its all different, im way ahead of my class, and i feel like its a big waste of time, basicly i hate it. but my mom already spent like 80 bucks on a dance outfit that you must order for the recydal [[i kno i spelled that wrong]] and like if i quit i would most likely not get that money back, but i cant stand it, my schedule is like rueling over my life, and i think that this would be the best for my to quit. what do u think...should i stay for the rest of the year and suffer through class? or should i quit and make my mom mad for wasting all that money? PLEASE HELPP!

well im in the same situation.. i am HATING dance but my mom is making me keep doing it :/

i know exactly how you feel!! soo do whatever makes u happy, and if you have the skills, maybe you can pick it back up in a year or two and be a little challenged like so ur class is at ur level.

but.. just think: if this is ruling over you schedule, what would you do to take place of all that time?? at this age, you cant just pick up any sport you want (i mean you can but u have to be like a natural). maybe take a break for a little while, and see if u wanna start back up later

ALSO: if this is what you have been working for since u were 6, you might wanna consider if you could go pro or SOMETHING when you're older, so it actually counts.

idk, its up to you. you have the pros and cons of quitting. (pro: you would be happier w/ ur free time) (con: all those years of practice would be wasted.. what would you do to fill up all those hours of dance?)

hope this helps!!

yes quit. If you hate it that badly.

what's your 'gut' feeling? i think you should talk to your mum about it too.

I don't think you should quit. Instead find another dance studio to dance at.

And about that $80 try and talk to the dance studio to even get $50 back. And trust me, my parents own a business and if people complain long and loud about it for awhile you eventually cave in.

If you love dance than there is no need to quit, find a school that will make you happy!

Hope this helps :)

hunni, if you really hate it & its making you unhappy then you should just make a decision based on what you think.
maybe you might want to try a harder class?
that may be why you think its a waste of time

your mum should understand

perhaps you could pay her back gradually?

hope that helps
:]

You should just quit theres no piont. Yeah you should

i dunno, i think just see it out a few more months. i think it will get better. i'm a dancer too, and its my first love. but no matter what your first love is, sometimes you lose enthusiasm for it. then just need to take a break. keep it up :)

I say if you want to quit, quit. You can pay your mom back the $ and she'll eventually get over it. Enroll in a harder class and make sure the teacher's technique is apt for you. Parents sometimes forget that we're young and would like to do other stuff. Tell her that. Dont leave dancing out of your life if you really love it though. But you got to get your point across and if your mom really loves you (which im sure she does) she'll understand even if she has to be upset a little while.

80 bucks isnt the end of the world, but I say stick with it for the year then decide. Make the best of it for now, you may enjoy it!
