Position:Home>Dancing> Why Black people can "dance" better? Theory?

Question:This isn't meant to be racist, I mean, the joke is out there and every joke has truth to it.

Would it make sense to think that, since black people have more of a history of tribal dancing (around a fire) that this is why they can "dance" and "move" better?

I haven't heard much on white people dancing, asians dancing, etc. but black people, in Africa, do have a history.

Any theories?

Well, actually, all races have history of dancing, but black people are recognized more for it.And black people also have a history in music and drumming, therefore we learn generation to generation to have rhythm.Does that answer your question.

White people are too afraid to express themselves.

yea i know alot of people that would be offended by this question myself included.

this is actually a good question. ussually black people have ryhthm(sp) and know how to use it. but sometimes this dosnt apply. it can also be a theory.

very good question. :)

Some of it may simply be tradition or more opportunities or encouragement to practice dancing.

For me, I think there may be some advantages in terms of neurology. I believe the ability to appreciate rhythm tends to be inborn. Not everyone can be good at everything. A number of people of color I know are more perceptive than me. They can hear and pickup on things which I cannot. So that could give them an edge in terms of sports and dancing.

I think it may be that white people are tipically more shy and don't express themselves as much usually
