Ok, here's the basic technique/skills and things needed to make dance team. Not all are required, but the more you can do/have the better chances you have:
~A solid double pirouette: even if you can't do a double, have a very clean single with perfect spotting, a straight supporting leg, level hips and shoulders, a good connected passe
~Leaps: we could choose to do a grand jete or to develop, but either way ideally you should have it perfect (imagine the splits in the air with both legs straight)
~Kicks: remember toes pointed, leg straight, if hooked up-arm placement and ching up
~Probably one of the following: axle turn, calypso, russian, x-leap, etc... this depends on the choreographer
~Chaine, pique turns
~Your Splits
~Showmanship: a good smile, possibly facials while you dance (PLEASE don't go overboard)
~A Clean Appearance: lipstick, make-up, hair back with no whispies
~A GREAT SMILE!!!
~Good Potential: they don't always look for the best dancer, but often for the dancers that appear to have good potential
~Solid Technique: it is easier to teach a moderate dancer new tricks than an amazing dancer new technique; don't sacrifice technique for kick height, your double turn, a leap, or a trick

Good Luck! Remember, no one has all of these down perfect! Look confident because the last couple of bullets I listed are more important than being able to do all of the tricks. Happy 2008!!!

depends on which school you go to like at my school you HAVE to have a lot

for a dance team, they usually do pirouettes, and leaps or splits. just wear comfortable clothing and dont worry too much =]

be calm during tryouts! get together with of the people that has been on the team before, to help you practice the tryout routine. besides the splits, you might have to learn a kick sequence, mostly straight leg kicks. BE CONFIDENT in your ability! Good luck on your tryouts!

if you are confident and know you can do it, then you'll be fine. you obviously dont have much audition experience if you get nerves that much (which is not a big deal at all) you just have to get used to it.
pretend you're at your studio.
if you love dancing, nothing else should matter.
just...do what you love and don't care what anyone else thinks.
