I've never heard of that.
I've been tapping for years, I started a beginner class when I was 5 and there were toe and heel taps.

I've actually never came across a pair of tap shoes with no heel tap when buying new tap shoes!!

The heel is used a lot for tapping, it's just as important as the toe, so I don't see why their wouldn't be a tap.

The answer is no, you don't have to be an expert for toe and heel taps.

ive never heard of that...i sell tap shoes to children at 2 years old with taps on the heel. what syllabus do you follow?

I've never heard of that either. I've always have taps on the toe and heel of my tap shoes.

I've never heard of that im a begginer and i have 2 taps talk to your teacher about that it sounds knd of fishy

I must say, that almost all tap shoes come with two taps on both heel and the front top side. That is very strange. You should talk to your dance instructor about it. :)

No way! I Had 2 taps when I was ! Just try it! It's so much fun! Just keep dancin and tappin'! HNY!!!!!!!!!!!!1

what the poop do they have yo doing wearing taps on the toes and heels of you shoes has nothing to do with how well your doing ive been taking for 11years and when i started they had taps on the toe and heel of each foot idk where you take but i say find somewhere new!

I've really never heard of tap shoes without a tap on the heel. Maybe try asking your tteacher this question and they can give you some advice.

ALL tap shoes, with the exception of characters and one brand of children's come with both taps attached. I have no clue what your studio must be making you do. You ABSOLUTELY do not need to be an expert dancer to wear fully tapped shoes, in fact, I think its assenine that you don't have them...the studios diea is dumb, not you personally!
I work for one of the largest dance retailers in the country and we sell toddler size 5 shoes fully tapped...

I used to take tap and I wore taps on the heels and toes. The little kids even start like that. I have never heard of doing otherwise.
