Position:Home>Dancing> Bone spurs - dancers, help!?

Question:The bone on the inside of my foot right below my big toe sticks out on both sides of my feet. They are not bunyuns, and they are VERY painful. I got wider pointe shoes this weekend, so I'm hoping that helps. I was afraid to go to the doctor because I dance year round and didn't want to have to take a break, but the pain was finally too much so I did. My doctor told me to ice them. I do, but they're still swelled and they still hurt. Has anyone ever had that happen? Advice please?

i've never had that problem but just a little advice to help you in the long run:
if it gets worse go to the doctor right away and tell him that the ice isn't working and that it's getting worse. taking a break now is much better than permanantly damaging your feet.

also, did your doctor recomend taking a break from dance? because if he did i would definitely listen because he knows what he's talking about. and like i said, not taking a break when you need to could possibly result in permanant damage.

You should really take this seriously and go see your doctor again. I have never had that happen, but my dad had a bone spur in his heal. He had surjury and was in an air cast for quite a while. Now he is in so much pain that he cannot walk barefoot.
