Position:Home>Dancing> How can we learn the current dances without embarassing our teenager?

Question:I want to learn all the new dances. Yet, our teenager says, "It is so embarassing to have your parents doing your dances." My husband asked him to show him one dance, and he says, "That is so embarassing, Dad it look like the someone is tasering you." LoL Is there any websites that you can think of?

OMG i swear im listening to my friend's parents w/this question. Girl all u gotta do is loosen up and not care when ur ABOUT to do ur dance. When u get into it though be serious and look confident. That's where its at. Yeah u can do soulja boy's crank that but it's so overrated now they'll prolly tell you oh yeah i seen a lotta ppl do it. However here's the tutorial

this is a good hip hop routine: (fast forward to 2:05)

It may look difficult but if you look at the video you'll see their moves are clean making it easy to distinguish the move so you can pick it up quickly. This dance actually scored high. If you want try a dance tutorial try this

i HIGHLY recommend this one, i've tried it and it's hella fun if you want to bust some b-boyin (the official name for breakdancing) moves

In all look like you own it and they'll stop thinkin negative. Also dont try to do any "cool" talk, till after the dance. Good luck! Peace out

youtube.com then type in the name of the song or the name of the dance and watch instructional videos or watch others do the dances on this cits also and you can pick up the moves.

In the parlance of Bart Simpson, tell your offspring, and I quote, "Bite Me!" Teen embarrassment is hardly a reason for concern. They usually get over it in about 7 or 8 years. Meanwhile, you've been having a great time on the dance floor.

go to youtube and search enspired dance

it will always be embarraing no matter how good you are;)

youtube.com has an INSTRUCTIONAL video to the "crank that" dance with the actually artist "soulja boy" so, just shut the doors or make sure your teen isn't home and practice. i think it's funny you want to learn these dances (i'm a 15 year old girl in fairfield county) and the image of two parents away in a room learning the "crank that" dance cracks me up. it sounds like a good bonding experience though! have fun! don't like throw out your back or anything bitty! good luck, maybe you'll end up doing it better than your teen that needs to get over the fact you are parents and your job is to be embarassing and if he/she keeps saying you guys are then you will be but if he/she laughs it off it is like whatever.

Sorry hate to break it to you mom but with all due respect you can't. trust me. No matter how correctly you all do the dance, its just embarrassing to us. I can't exactly explain why but....yea it just is. But if you insist on learning anyways then go on youtube. But be warned, your child may never forgive you lol :) Good luck Ms. Mom.

you are asking for the impossible. parents always embarass teenagers. you are not a teenager anymore and never will be no matter how "cool" you think you are. give it up and act your age.
