Go through the steps at a bar first - Plie with your leg out, releve and bring your leg to second, then bring it back in. Make sure you know the motions by muscle memory because if those are wrong, it's very hard to break.

Make sure you're not going too slow. That was my problem while learning them. Whip it around! And spot fast!

Hold your back straight, and think of pushing down with your hips put pulling up with your torso. You know those baby hair on your neck at the bottom of your hairline? pretend like someone is pulling on those!

Good luck! I'm sure you'll master them =]

ahhh....the frustrating fourettes!

HATED learning those.

make sure you're spotting is REALLY well, for regular turns and stuff. keep you head front for as long as possible, and whip it around when you turn.

can you do other difficult turns, like double pirouettes? that will help you with you're spotting and yuor turn ability.

also, ask your teacher if thers anything you are doing wrong, because i can't see you do them. you might not even be doing anything wrong, it takes a lot of practice to master them

One word: spot spot spot spot spot!

What helps me with fouettes is just to gradually build up to them. Don't expect to just do 5 in a row. Prepare, do 1 then stop. Prepare, do 2 then stop. And just keep going up and up.

And as always, practise really does make perfect.

Hope this helps :)

I am learning those in dance too! I am also finding them very hard. You need to spot (like everyone else said.). The other thing you need to do is practice. Start out with pirouettes and slowly progress to a fouette. When you are doing a fouette, you need to use your arms. They help a lot! I hope this helped you!
